We are currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver ...

... working within a team of Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse and Purchasing staff for our Calgary facility on a full-time, permanent basis.  Our hours of work are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Occasionally, overtime work is necessary and you will be required to participate.  The wage range is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, however, the starting wage offered will depend upon your experience.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing waybills for outgoing shipments.
• Packaging stock for outgoing shipments.
• Ensuring that the most competitive freight rate is obtained from the carrier, and tracking shipments.
• Delivery of goods to carriers after-hours is sometimes required.
• Checking incoming shipments for damage, comparing incoming goods to accompanying paperwork and moving stock to the warehouse.

Occasionally, waiting after hours for an incoming shipment is required.  You will work closely with our senior staff on a day-to-day basis.

Your qualifications:
Alamo will provide you with full training in our policies and procedures; however, you must have some shipping/receiving experience or training, along with customs experience. Intermediate keyboarding skills and experience with MS Office is an asset.  We are looking for an energetic, motivated individual to join our team.  Alamo is a fast-paced environment, therefore, you must be able to work with deadlines, handle multiple projects and switch easily from one task to another.  In addition, you must be able to lift and carry (up to 50 lbs.) repeatedly throughout the day and have a valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
